The Way

  • One of the best things I liked about “chosen” was when Jesus would
    laugh

As God created, we read God said it was Good.
The word good appears seven times in the first 30 verses (Gen 4, 10, 12,
    18, 21, 25, 26-30).
  • It is translated from the Hebrew word TOV.
I imagine Father God creating and Jesus looking at it and saying with
    awe, Oh that’s so TOV.
And God saying and that’s not all..Oh That’s so TOV.
And at the end when humans are created The Holy Spirit says, That is so
    VERY TOV.
Then Jesus and God just laughs for a while.
Until, In Genesis 2:18 God is made aware of the impracticality of being
    alone.
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a
    helper suitable for him.”
    Loneliness is not TOV
Did you know a 2020 Cedar Sinai medical report that examined
loneliness in the workplace found that 79% of Gen Zers and 71% of
Millennials considered themselves lonely, compared to 50% of Baby
    Boomers.
Barna Group reported in 2023, one-third of U.S. adults were reporting
feeling lonely for at least some of each day. Zooming out a bit more, over
half experienced loneliness at least once a week. The numbers don’t shift
much between the winter and spring responses—overall, three in 10
Americans say they feel lonely at least once each day.
Why are we lonely people in America?
We are created in the image of God who lived in a perfect community so
it’s completely understandable that one of the first things Jesus did at the
beginning of His ministry was intentional creating a community.
    Jesus chose intentional community.
He also chose a group of people willing to put aside their differences to
learn a better way of life.
  • God could have chosen a team from the best and brightest according to
    the world’s standards.
However Jesus chose a team with nothing in common with one another.
He chose blue collar guys (fisherman), a secret assassin or terrorist (a
zealot), a few guys with anger issues, a profitter (tax collector) and a host
of other misfits in the entourage.
The only reason this multi generation team stayed together was their
devotion to follow Jesus’ lead into the world.
They existed in a no judgement zone and chose to live a spiritually
unified existence emulating the triune nature of God.
The church is supposed to be the New Community of Jesus.
The church is supposed to emulate the words from Ecclesiastes 4:12:
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of
three strands is not quickly broken.
    And Proverbs 27:17 states,
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
In short, We can not experience the promises of God alone.
We need to be in community.
Our community is called Christian Fellowship Assembly-cfa-fellowship
